News from the Chairman – Jill Hipsey

We are delighted to have made such a positive start since reopening in April. So many visitors have said how glad they are that we are open again. This emphasises to us that we are making a positive contribution to both the local community and visitors from outside the district.

We now have feather flags outside to catch people’s eye, to show everyone when we are open and to emphasise that we are no longer a church!

The inclusion of the Visitor Information desk has been a very welcome addition to what we already have to offer. From day one I have seen many a visitor being given great advice as to where to go and how to make the most of the town and district. It seems that the walking routes are particularly popular. The Visitor Information volunteers have fitted in so well and all seem to be enjoying being part of our team.

Our visitors and everyone involved have been thoroughly enjoying the variety of exhibitions so far this year, showcasing the wonderful local talent. I have given a few impromptu talks to small bubble groups which seemed to be appreciated.

There are lots of plans in place for upcoming events so do keep an eye on our website and our Facebook page.
