A Floral Feast – Big Bold and Blooming Brilliant!

The joint exhibition by Jill Hipsey & George Kowsan.

Step into a garden reimagined—one that doesn’t obey the rules of nature, but reinvents them in thread, pigment, and canvas.

This evocative new exhibition explores the intersection of modern abstraction and textile artistry, rooted in the lush language of the botanical world.

Featuring a dynamic collection of contemporary works by established local artists, this show blossoms with bold interpretations of nature’s most timeless muse, each piece is a quiet rebellion against realism—a celebration of the wild, the soft, and the unseen.

Hosted at the historic Maeldune Heritage Centre, the exhibition opens on April 17th, 2025, and runs for three weeks. Visitors are invited to engage with the work not just visually, but personally—each Saturday, the artists themselves will be present for Meet the Artist events. These intimate afternoons promise stories, insights, and conversations blooming in real time.

This is more than an art show. It’s a sensory feast in a heritage space—a reminder that even the most delicate things can make a powerful impression.

Come. Witness the power of the flower.
