The Maeldune Trust is proud to partner with the Saltmarsh Coast CIC with it’s focus on the promotion of tourism in the Maldon District.
Launched in 2026, the Saltmarsh CIC provides support to the District through both strategic coordination and the provision of information of benefit to both residents and visitors alike.
The Saltmarsh Coast CIC and the Maeldune Trust support the concept of ‘regenerative tourism’ which recognises that each component of the tourism sector will support each of the others by attracting new or repeated visitors to the District.
For example, visitors attracted to the District for a weekend may choose to see a number of museums, galleries and other attractions. They may stay in overnight accommodation and eat at businesses within the hospitality sector. Their transport choices and tourist purchases will all draw benefit to local businesses. Promoting one sector leads to benefits for others.
Hundreds of visitors come to the Maeldune Heritage Centre, which includes Maldon’s Visitor Information Centre, each week and our volunteers are continuously engaged in promoting not only the Town’s history and culture, but support for our partners across the District.
